Geary County Schools USD 475 follows the guidelines from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and provides healthy options for students. Some items that students see in addition to the larger serving sizes of fruits and vegetables, are beans and legumes along with whole grain rich items, including breads, cookies and chips. At breakfast, all grain items are whole grain including pancakes and French toast.
Celebrate your heroes the week of May 1-5, 2017 during School Nutrition Employee Week. School Nutrition Hero Day is Friday May 5. Recognize directors, managers, staff, parents–anyone that is a champion for school nutrition. Let this week serve as a reminder for all the work they do in our schools by showing them a little love.
