Board of Education members and district officials with members of the community gathered at the Devin Center on Monday, June 5, 2017, for the monthly Board of Education Meeting. The meeting highlighted several achievements throughout the district which included an Administrator of the Year Award, a Track and Field win at the State level, and a long list of academic achievements.

Wellness Fair

Fort Riley Middle School kick-started National Physical Education and Sport week by hosting their annual Wellness Fair on Friday, April 28. Bethany College’s Track and Field/Cross Country Coach Aaron Yoder welcomed the students and spoke to them about the importance of Positivity, Responsibility, Integrity, Determination, and Excellence (FRMS Trooper Traditions P.R.I.D.E.) He focused primarily on determination and how it helped him to become the World Record Holder in the Backwards Mile.

New Assistant Principal Selected

Unified School District 475, Geary County Schools, announced on April 24, 2017, the selection of a new Assistant Principal at Fort Riley Middle School, pending Board of Education approval. Shannon Molt, an Instructional Coach at Fort Riley Middle School since 2008, was selected for the position following an interview process. Molt will make her switch from Instruction Coach to Assistant Principal on July 1, 2017.
