JUNCTION CITY, KAN. – The Geary County Schools USD 475 Board of Education voted (7-0) in December 2018 to select Dr. Reginald Eggleston for the top education spot in Geary County; Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Eggleston will begin serving the community in April 2019. This week, USD 475 announced a press conference to welcome Dr. Eggleston, have him sign a ceremonial contract, and answer questions from the media.
This press conference is set for Thursday, January 10, 2019, at 10:30 AM, and will be held at the Mary Devin Center for Educational Support (123. N. Eisenhower Drive, Junction City, Kansas 66441).
Dr. Reginald Eggleston has over twenty-four years of experience in public education and currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserves. His time in the classroom as a Special Education Teacher is the foundation for his core beliefs and success as an educator. He currently serves as the Commander of the 4/413th (SROTC) Battalion, Ft. Knox, KY. Dr. Eggleston has served as a high school principal, Director of Special Education and Student Services, Assistant Superintendent, Chief Administrative Officer/Superintendent and Director of Pre-Intervention Strategies.
Dr. Eggleston earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism at Troy State University. A Master’s Degree in Special Education at The University of Alabama in Birmingham, an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration at Auburn University in Montgomery, and a Doctor of Education at Nova Southeastern University. He and his wife Regina reside in Mobile, AL.
