New Superintendent Announced

JUNCTION CITY, KAN.  – Geary County Schools USD 475 Board of Education President, Mr. Tom Brungardt, at the December 17, 2018 Board of Education meeting announced the selection of Dr. Reginald Eggleston as the new Superintendent of Geary County Schools. The Board of Education voted (7-0) making the announcement official. Dr. Eggleston will begin his position as Superintendent of Schools in April 2019.

Dr. Reginald Eggleston has over twenty-four years of experience in public education and currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserves.  His time in the classroom as a Special Education Teacher is the foundation for his core beliefs and success as an educator.   He currently serves as the Commander of the 4/413th (SROTC) Battalion, Ft. Knox, KY.  Dr. Eggleston has served as a high school principal, Director of Special Education and Student Services, Assistant Superintendent, Chief Administrative Officer/Superintendent and Director of Pre-Intervention Strategies.

Dr. Eggleston earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism at Troy State University. A Master’s Degree in Special Education at The University of Alabama in Birmingham, an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration at Auburn University in Montgomery, and a Doctor of Education at Nova Southeastern University.  He and his wife Regina reside in Mobile, AL.
