On Wednesday, November 7th, parents and teachers came together to discuss the Kansans Can School Redesign Project happening at Lincoln Elementary. Dr. Randy Watson, State Commissioner of Education, spoke about why the redesign is valuable for Kansas schools and what options are available.
After listening to Dr. Watson, parents broke out into smaller groups and discussed what they would like to see happen with the redesign process. Parents led the discussion, took notes, and returned them to the staff. The notes were collected, along with student and staff responses, to help the Lincoln Elementary staff determine what their redesign will include. This information will be used to plan through the rest of this school year. Plans will be implemented during the 2019-2020 school year.
