Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week stems from a national campaign working towards a Drug-Free America. As members of the community, we can all help educate our children to ensure they live drug-free lives. The following list offers ways you can help your child stay drug free.

  • Set clear rules about not using drugs
  • Set a good example by not using any illegal drugs or medicine without a prescription
  • Monitor your child’s behavior and enforce consequences if the rules set are ever broken
  • Have open and honest conversations about the dangers of drugs

USD 475 schools helped to build awareness on living Drug Free by participating in Red Ribbon Week. The theme for this year’s Red Ribbon Campaign was “Life Is Your Journey, Travel Drug Free”.  Participating schools built off this theme by creating individual themed days to help students learn about the importance of staying drug free.

Ware Elementary celebrated with a Pajama Day where students were encouraged to “Follow Your Dreams” Wear PJ’s and stay away from Drugs.
