JUNCTION CITY, KAN. – Geary County Schools announced this week that the State of Kansas Legislature has appropriated funds to pay for any public school Junior to take the ACT test and/or ACT WorkKeys assessment. Any public school Senior who has not previously taken the assessments are also eligible to participate in this year’s free service. The Deadline to signup for these tests through the USD 475 website is November 15, 2018.
The ACT is a test taken for admission to a college or university and will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at the Junction City High School with a makeup date on April 2, 2019. The ACT is open to any Junior who plans to attend college or university after graduation from high school and any Senior who has not previously taken the ACT.
The ACT WorkKeys assessment is an assessment that measures one’s general knowledge of workplace expectations and behaviors. This assessment will take place on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at the Junction City High School. A makeup date for this test is scheduled for April 3, 2019. This assessment is open to any Junior and any Senior who has not previously taken the WorkKeys.
Students may choose to take one test, both tests, or neither test. Those in need of assistance should visit with their Academy Counselor.
