On Thursday, September 6, 2018, Washington Elementary invited students and their families to tour the school and meet the staff for Parent Orientation. There were many smiling faces throughout the campus as families enjoyed participating in their students educational career. Free books were given out to the children and a few community groups were there to give out information to parents. Hot dogs, chips, and drinks were provided in the cafeteria as well.
“The goal of today’s event was to give parents valuable information about our school policies and guidelines. It was also an opportunity for parents and teachers to meet and establish good communication. The Boy Scouts, Booster Club, 4-H Center, and the Elite Academy for Martial Arts were also invited tonight as a way to encourage community involvement in our schools.” -Jeremy Fajen, Assistant Principal at Washington Elementary
“Thank you for the free book! I love to read and I’m excited to see all my friends today.” -Jeremiah, 5th Grade Student at Washington Elementary
“I am really happy right now because I get a free book and books are usually five dollars, but this one is free! I am also happy we came because I get to see my friends.” -Tristan, 4th Grade Student at Washington Elementary
