New Superintendent Community Focus Group

The Geary County Schools USD 475 Board of Education invites community members and all other Geary County Schools stakeholders to participate in a Community Focus Group to assist in the search for a new Superintendent.

The Focus Group, which is open to the community, will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at 6:30 PM at the Junction City Middle School Auditorium. JCMS is located at 700 Wildcat Lane, Junction City, Kansas 66441.

Those not able to attend the focus group sessions being help that week are asked to complete the surveys below. These surveys will also be used in identifying the perfect candidate for the new USD 475 Superintendent. In order to provide a larger variety of participants in a two-day window, some community groups may have receipted instructions to attend separate focus groups at different times. This Community Focus Group, however, is open to everyone interested in participating.

Input collected during these surveys will be valuable to the process as results will assist the Board in developing a profile of the ideal Superintendent candidate.

The two surveys below will take only a few minutes to complete and will be available until September 17, 2018.

The “District 33” survey asks respondents to select the top 10 characteristics that are most important in the selection of a new Superintendent, from a list of 33 total characteristics.

The “District Review” survey poses 15 questions about the state of the school district today and asks respondents to base their view of the district on a scale of 1 to 5.

Online surveys will be open from August 7, 2018, until 8:00 AM on September 17, 2018.  The Board of Education will receive the results of the survey at their regularly scheduled meeting on October 1, 2018.
