JUNCTION CITY, KAN. – Dr. Corbin Witt, Superintendent of Schools, announced that he would be stepping down from his position in USD 475. The Board of Education approved a motion last night, which makes the announcement official. Associate Superintendent Dr. Beth Hudson, who was filling a short-term Interim Superintendent role, will continue in her position until the Board of Education can locate and hire the next Superintendent. Board members began the preliminary search process earlier this summer (June).
“Witt has put together a team of individuals who are experts in their field and, more importantly, dedicated to our district’s success. Under his tenure, we have won many awards and made great strides toward continued success. USD 475 has some new, innovative, and exciting things on the horizon and many of those things started under his watch.” – Dr. Beth Hudson, Interim Superintendent, Geary County Schools USD 475
During Dr. Witt’s tenure, USD 475 schools received two Blue Ribbon Awards, three Challenge Awards, and four Horizon Awards. Schools within the district were also selected for the Kansas School Redesign Project (Gemini), and a school bond issue was passed for construction on a new Junction City High School.
