May 22, 2018 Fort Riley Elementary hosted a school-wide multi-cultural event, “Summer Adventures Around the World.” Parents of FRE students, paraprofessionals, and community members hosted stations from their cultural backgrounds. 16 countries were represented. Presenters engaged students with language, food, crafts, games, artifacts, and dances from around the globe. Community members were also involved during this event. The students were presented summer safety tips and reading information from the following: Bramlage Library, Milford Nature Center, Eyster Pool, Fort Riley MP’s. A special visit from Washington Elementary’s resident therapy dog was a huge hit!
“ Adventures Around the World” was a great way to connect students to other cultures and broaden their world view. We hope to continue this event next year and involve more members of our community.
