World Water Day will take place during the USD 475 Spring Break giving families time to celebrate and learn about the water around us!
World Water Day is an annual event celebrated on March 22nd. The first International World Water Day, designated by the United Nations, was commemorated in 1993. The day focuses attention on the importance of access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities in developing countries. The day also focuses on advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. It is meant to inspire people around the world to learn more about water-related issues, tell others about these issues and take action to make a difference, particularly in developing countries. The UN-Water coordinates a theme each year; the theme for 2018 is Nature for Water. The theme in 2018 explores how nature can be used to overcome the water challenges of the 21st century.
