A nutrition education and information campaign sponsored annually by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, National Nutrition Month, held annually in March, focuses attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. This year’s theme is “Bite into a Healthy Lifestyle,” focusing on exercising regularly and making the best food choices.
USD 475 is committed to helping its students and staff make the best choices for a healthy lifestyle through the Wellness Program. This program creates opportunities for students such as Kansas Kids Fitness Day which provides third graders in the district the opportunity to learn about fitness and food choices during the school day. The Wellness Program also offers staff opportunities throughout the year to join fitness initiatives to improve health as well as guide food choices.
