World Kindness Day

World Kindness Day was created when a collection of humanitarian groups came together on November 13, 1997 and made a “Declaration of Kindness”. On Kindness Day everyone is encouraged to make a gesture of good will or kindness toward another. Donating books, food, or clothes to your local community shelter or charitable organization is a great way to celebrate. Pledging to commit just one act of kindness is a worthwhile effort that impacts someone’s day; hold the door open for a stranger, compliment your neighbor on their garden, let your sibling have control of the TV remote for the evening.

Whichever way you decide to celebrate, remember that the best thing about Kindness Day is that it can easily make someone’s day a happy one! Share your act of kindness with USD 475 on our Facebook or Twitter page and join Geary County Schools in spreading kindness today and throughout the rest of the year.
