Halloween is right around the corner. The holiday usually brings candy and sweet treats galore. Fortunately, there are some healthy alternates to classic sweets on this spooky holiday. One of the all time classics is a candy apple. We have an alternative to this classic.
Peanut Butter "Candy" Apple
Healthy Alternative to the Sweet Treat Classic Candy Apple
- 2 tbsp natural peanut butter
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 medium apple cored and cut in half crosswise
- 2 4 oz cups unsweetened applesauce
- 2 wooden popsicle sticks
- 1 tsp shredded coconut
Stir peanut butter and honey together.
Place an apple half, cut-side down, on top of each applesauce cup.
Spoon half the peanut butter mixture over the top of each apple. Spread decoratively with a knife. Insert a popsicle stick into the top of each apple and sprinkle with coconut.
