On Monday, September 25, Washington Elementary presented a check to I.C.A.R.E. Executive Director, Vickie Bobbitt, for the intergenerational playground they are currently fundraising for. Jennifer Black, Principal, and Lana Sigle, first grade teacher and Bulldog Booster Club member, presented the check to Mrs. Bobbitt.
I.C.A.R.E. is a community service organization that builds relationships between youth and older adults. Many schools in USD 475 partner with I.C.A.R.E., including Washington’s Sheltered ELL Kindergarten class, who travels to Valley View each month to visit with residents and work on a literacy based art project.
