Camp Roar is a tradition that was started at Fort Riley Elementary and came to Lincoln when I started as Principal. Each year has a different theme that is centered around summer learning and summer fun. Last year, the students from Junction City High School came to Lincoln and lead us in different science activities, including extracting DNA from strawberries, larva habitats, cell behavior and a virus game. Another year, high school students also lead groups in science experiments. The students created Elephant toothpaste, slime, created rockets and had the military robots. This year the students are learning about summer safety by participating in activities that focus on water safety, summer nutrition, summer creatures to be aware of when outside, STEM activities for the summer and life underground.
