April KJCK Teacher of the Month: Angela Schlagel

1420 KJCK awarded Angela “Susan” Schlagel their Teacher of the Month award on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. KJCK presented her with the award in her classroom among her students and staff members. The class received a pizza party in celebration of Mrs. Schlagel’s hard work and dedication to education.

Susan Schlagel began working for our district, at Sheridan Elementary School, in August of 2014. Right from the start, she immersed herself in the culture of the school, taking on a leadership role in STUCO and making presentations to the staff. She is a caring, compassionate teacher with an unending drive to ensure her students are successful learners. Susan is a consummate learner, taking advantage of numerous professional development opportunities to gain strategies and knowledge to bring back and employ in her classroom and share with colleagues. She spends her summers engaged in learning opportunities, and planning for the next group of students she will receive in the fall. Susan and her family devote hours of their personal time serving our students and others in the community. Each year before school starts, you will find her in the Wal-Mart parking lot helping Stuff the Bus with United Way! Sheridan Elementary is a better place because she is here! – Dixie Coleman, Principal at Sheridan Elementary

Mrs. Schlagel and the student who nominated her for KJCK Teacher of the Month, being congratulated by KJCK.
