JUNCTION CITY, KAN. – Congratulations are being sung to several large music groups from the Junction City High School. These groups include the Chamber Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Lady Blues, Chamber Choir, and the JCHS Jazz Band. Groups performed at the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) Large Group Music Festival in Lawrence, Kansas on April 13, 2017, and the Coleman Hawkins Jazz Festival at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas on April 14, 2017.
Groups performing at the KSHSAA Festival were evaluated by a panel of judges and given a rating based on their performance.
The Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Mr. David Bernard-Stevens, and the Wind Ensemble (band), conducted by Mr. T.J. Taylor received “2 ratings.” The two choral groups under the direction of Mr. Michael Brown and Mrs. Annika Stucky received a “1 rating.”
To hear these groups perform, Geary County Schools and JCHS invite the community to attend upcoming musical performances.
